No eye is like another. We photograph your iris and turn it into a picture for your wall.
Your eye, printed large
A pattern only you have
The iris is the coloured ring around your pupil, a pattern of fibres, crypts and fine lines. It forms during your first months of life and stays the same after that. Only colour and brightness can change over time.
No other person has the same pattern. Even your left and your right eye are different. Only in a large print do you see how many colours and structures it holds.
The photo session itself takes only a few minutes. Afterwards we edit the image by hand and decide on the design together. We print on aluminium composite or acrylic glass, ready to hang.

Better without contact lenses
We recommend taking your lenses out beforehand. That keeps the pattern fine and clear.
Dark eyes work too
Even with very dark brown, structures and colour gradients become visible that the eye alone can hardly see.
Children from about five
The eye has to stay still for a few seconds. We try without any pressure. If the photo does not work out, there are no costs.
Edited by hand
We bring out structures and colours without changing the pattern and agree the design with you.
Print preview for large formats
For large pictures you get a preview on request before we send it to print.
Duo or fusion
Two irises are shown side by side as a duo or merged into one motif. Families with several children work as well.
File and reordering
You can add your pictures as high resolution files and reorder further prints at any time.
As a gift
There is a voucher box for the iris session, available in the studio.

Questions about iris photography
Is iris photography harmful?
No. The light dazzles you only briefly and is of course not harmful.
Do contact lenses get in the way?
We recommend not wearing contact lenses for the session. Just ask us if you have any questions about it.
Does it work with dark eyes?
Yes. Even with very dark brown, structures and colour gradients become visible that are hard to see with the naked eye.
From what age does it work with children?
We recommend it from about five years. The eye has to stay still for a few seconds. With children we try without any pressure. If the photo does not work out, there are of course no costs.
How long does the session take?
The photo itself takes only a few minutes. The editing is then done by hand. For large formats you receive a print preview on request.
Do I get the digital file as well?
Yes. You can also get your photos as high resolution files. You can reorder additional prints from us at any time.
Is a picture with two people possible?
Yes. Two irises can be combined as a duo or merged into a single motif.
Does it work for a family with two or more children?
Yes, of course. Just ask us if your idea is not covered by one of the packages.
Where is the studio?
Our studio is in the centre of Jena, in the Holzmarktpassage on the ground floor. You can reach us easily by bus, tram, car with parking in the underground car park or by bike.
Can I drop in without an appointment?
Iris photography needs an appointment. Call us, send a message or visit us in the Holzmarktpassage.
Can I give it as a present?
Yes. There is a voucher box for the iris session, available in the studio.
